Controlling Alopecia

The oil of mango seeds is helpful in controlling alopecia, a condition in which one loses hair prematurely. It even prevents early graying of the hair. Being an effective hair tonic, it is helpful in mitigating dandruff as well.

For Sore Throats

You can also control and prevent a hoarse throat and even whooping cough by drinking an extract prepared from mango leaves. Boil 40 gm of mango leaves with 400 ml of water, till the water evaporates and is reduced to one-fourth of its original volume. Drink this extract with two or three spoonfuls of honey. To cure dry cough, bake a ripe mango and suck on it after it cools down.

For Liver Problems

A bad liver, characterized by loose motions and loss of appetite, responds effectively to treatment involving an extract of mango leaves. Boil five or six grams of mango leaves that have been dried in the shade in 250 ml of water. When the extract reduces to half its original size on boiling, filter it. Mix it with milk and have it first thing in the morning for the best results.

For Diabetes

In diabetics, an extract prepared byboiling 10 to 11 gm of mango leaves in 500 ml of water helps in bringing down the blood sugar levels. For the extractto be effective, continue boiling it till it reduces to half its original volume.

Alleviating Symptoms of Cholera

You can successfully treat even a deadly disease like cholera, if detected in the early stages, with an extract prepared from mango leaves. Grind 20 gm of mango leaves and boil them in 500 ml water, till the volume reduces to one-fourth the original volume.

Chronic Hiccups

If you have a chronic case of the hiccups, smoking mango leaves might just work for you! Fill up a few broken or whole leaves in a smoking pipe. Light them up and take a few puffs for relief. Another way to stop hiccups is to consume two or three milliliters of a juice prepared from mango leaves with a spoonful of honey. Yet another medicinal preparation for the problem involves grinding two to four grams each of mango leaves and coriander leaves, and drinking this mixture with lukewarm water two or three times a day.

Preventing Nosebleeds

If you suffer from frequent nosebleeds, one way to stop it is to inhale the smoke from burning mango flowers. Alternately, you may also put in your nose a few drops of the juice obtained from mango flowers.

For Dental Problems

Mango preparations have been found to be helpful in curing dental problems as well. Grind in equal parts the bark and leaves of the mango tree. Apply the paste on your teeth and gums and retain it in your mouth for a while without spitting it out. The natural urge could be to spit it out; refrain from doing so. This dental preparation helps in curing various tooth disorders, besides also strengthening your dentures.

For Healthy Hair

Mango leaves are also good for your hair. Grind mango leaves and apply them to your hair for luster and strength. Grind peels of an unripe mango and dip them in mustard oil. Leave this mixture out in the sun for a few days. Afterwards, apply the oil extract from it to your hair for luster and to control alopecia.
